I've always been a fan of using old lenses - there's just something about the feel of them, the manual apeture rings the smoothly turning turning rings. Definitely brings you closer to the camera and makes things feel more intuitive and creative. And there's just something about the old glass and old coatings that just make things pop! Also, you can get great quality lenses for minimal cost. What's not to love?
 
The Nikon 35-70mm f/3.5 certainly doesn't disappoint. I think this is probably the nicest old film lens I've owned (and probably the most expensive when it was originally sold). Definitely have always been a fan of prime lenses but the image quality out of this thing is insane! And I've found myself using it for photos as well as video (which is what I mainly bought it for). As for the Sony FE 50mm f/1.8, this one is a pretty solid lens and definitely happy to have some auto focus glass again. Enjoy the photos...
